Why does the heart rate differ from the rate slider or pacing setting?

The effective rhythm can be changed by therapy, pacing or a special rhythm rule.

Overview

The slider sets a selected/reference rate, while the monitor displays the effective rate after interventions and pacing. Open the information icon beside Ventricular Rate to see the relationship.

Demand pacing does not need to take over a faster intrinsic rhythm. AF, escape rhythms and AV-block models also have atrial/ventricular timing rules. VF has no organized rate, and a zero-rate setting is ventricular standstill.

Check active interventions and the selected rhythm before resetting. Reset Vitals restores reference targets while retaining treatment; Interventions Reset removes treatment effects.
