What does the Wiggers diagram show?

Pressure, volume and electrical timing aligned within a modeled cardiac cycle.

Overview

The Wiggers view aligns the modeled cardiac events with the ECG and volume loop. The shared time marker makes it possible to connect a pressure change with the corresponding electrical and mechanical phase.

LV is the default. Select RV above Wiggers to switch both pressure-time and pressure–volume diagrams to the right heart; the ECG remains synchronized. Constriction and restriction show both ventricular pressures on the same scale automatically.

For valve lesions, turn on Valve gradients to shade the pressure difference during the relevant flow phase. Hover the shading when paused for the instantaneous gradient. Mixed lesions add the necessary chamber traces. This depicts driving pressure, not murmur loudness or a Doppler/peak-to-peak measurement.

The live view advances with the simulation clock; the paused view adds teaching labels. Use the nearby phase legend and heart-sound markers where applicable.

The diagram is derived from the simulator’s state. It is not an independently acquired pressure/volume recording or a patient-specific valve-timing measurement.
