Severe Right Ventricular Failure

RV pump failure with an elevated pulmonary vascular load produces high right-sided filling pressures and reduced left-heart preload.

Overview

Select Severe Right Ventricular Failure under Clinical controls → Hemodynamic state. The bold italic live label confirms the active selection. These are the preset’s teaching features; combined disease, rate and interventions can change the resulting numbers.

RV pump failure with an elevated pulmonary vascular load produces high right-sided filling pressures and reduced left-heart preload.

RA and RV end-diastolic pressures are markedly elevated relative to wedge.

Systemic pressure and reference output are low.

Low flow limits PA pressure despite elevated PVR in this preset. PADP exceeds wedge because this example includes pulmonary vascular loading as well as RV pump failure.

Step by step

  1. Reset interventions if you want the untreated example.
  2. Select the condition and inspect the pressure summary and relevant waveforms.
  3. Pause for annotations; add one intervention or loading change to compare the response.
