Disease states

Heart Failure · Preserved Output

Warm and wet teaching phenotype: elevated filling pressures and congestion with preserved forward cardiac output and blood pressure.

Overview

Select Heart Failure · Preserved Output under Clinical controls → Hemodynamic state. The bold italic live label confirms the active selection. These are the preset’s teaching features; combined disease, rate and interventions can change the resulting numbers.

Warm and wet teaching phenotype: elevated filling pressures and congestion with preserved forward cardiac output and blood pressure.

Reference CO 5.5 L/min, BP 125/75 mmHg, HR 90 bpm, wedge and LVEDP 25 mmHg.

Preserved cardiac output is not equivalent to preserved ejection fraction; EF is not specified.

Use the filling-pressure slider in Baseline vitals to adjust the baseline loading target.

Mixed shock, rhythm or valve disease and interventions can change output; normal perfusion is the starting phenotype, not a guaranteed outcome.

Step by step

  1. Reset interventions if you want the untreated example.
  2. Select the condition and inspect the pressure summary and relevant waveforms.
  3. Pause for annotations; add one intervention or loading change to compare the response.
