Overview
PVR is entered in Wood units; SVR is entered in dyn·s/cm⁵. The adjacent help shows the converted units. Both are reference targets before the effects of rhythm, drugs and support.
The model then updates flow, filling pressures and waveforms. A change in vascular resistance can produce a different measured resistance in the final table once all other effects are included. Changes do not independently diagnose an ECG abnormality.
When shunts are present, pulmonary and systemic flow are tracked separately. With V-A ECMO, pulmonary flow excludes the bypass circuit. Use the table’s flow explanation before comparing PVR with SVR.
