Controls & baseline vitals
Reset, rate, pressure, resistance, flow and mixed conditions.
Can I combine diseases and valve lesions?
Yes. Disease selections can be combined, with incompatible acute/chronic versions handled by the model.
How do I change valve severity?
Select a valve lesion, then Mild, Mod or Severe.
How do I change ventricular rate?
The 0–240 bpm slider is inside Baseline vitals.
How do I reset the whole simulator?
Reset returns The Lab to its default baseline state.
How do I select a disease state?
Expand the relevant clinical category and select a condition.
How do PVR and SVR sliders work?
PVR controls pulmonary vascular load; SVR controls systemic vascular load.
How does ASD affect the respiratory teaching pattern?
The model buffers respiratory changes in ventricular volume loading.
How does the cardiac-output slider interact with the other controls?
It sets reference forward flow; resistance, loading, rhythm and treatment still act on the result.
What do the systolic and diastolic sliders do?
Set reference arterial pressure and load; the monitor shows the resulting model.
What does Reset Vitals change?
Restore scenario vitals without clearing diseases or treatments.
What is in Baseline vitals?
Rhythm, ventricular rate, blood pressure, filling, output and resistance controls.
When are pulmonary and systemic flows separated?
Shunts and extracorporeal bypass require explicit circulation accounting.
Where do I add ASD, PAPVR, PDA, VSD or Eisenmenger physiology?
Use Intracardiac Shunts in Clinical controls.
Why did I open at the welcome, normal baseline or a disease?
Entry route and direct-link controls determine the starting view.
Why do settings and measured numbers differ?
Controls describe inputs; tables and traces show the combined output.
