Overview
The rate slider sets the selected ventricular rate. The displayed effective rate can change after pacing or rate-modifying interventions. The Rate effects tooltip shows both values.
Rhythms have their own timing rules: atrial fibrillation varies beat spacing; AV-block states can separate atrial and ventricular activity; pacing can override a slower intrinsic rate. A zero setting produces the model’s simplified ventricular-standstill display. VF has no organized ventricular rate to adjust.
Rate changes also influence filling, forward output and pressure waveforms. A faster tracing is not merely the same pressure waveform compressed horizontally.
